They held the “Citizen and Business Agenda: Safety, Economy and Community” virtual meeting in which the Secretary of Economical Development, Fadlala Akabani, participated.
Building a platform that brings together businessmen, citizens, the church and authorities, is fundamental in the strategy of social and economical recovery from COVID-19, according to Carlos Salazar Lomeli, President of the Business Coordinator Council (CCE), and Salvador Guerrero Chipres, President of the Citizen Council for Safety and Justice in Mexico City.
The afore mentioned took place during the virtual meeting “Citizen and Business Agenda: Safety, Economy and Community” that the Citizen Council organized and in which the Secretary of Economical Development, Fadlala Akabani Hneide; Monsignor Alfonso Miranda, Secretary of the Mexican Archbishopric and the honorary counsels also participated.
Salazar Lomeli pointed out that the necessary actions to protect families, companies and the economy are: coordinated work and communication beyond differences.
“As far as we can protect employment and investments we’ll be able to reduce the consequences that the contingency for COVID-19 has caused in Mexico,” he mentioned.
Guerrero Chipres pointed out that the creation of a new community will contribute to identify opportunities that allow to protect not only employment but also to promote investments, improve safety and even promote community help.
“We need a community in which we all fit, where all of us have the possibility to build the right measure and grow strong as a society,” he added.
Fadlala Akabani added that this type of dialogues is very important since they allow building bridges of transition towards the new normal, where the participation of every element of society will be necessary for economical recovery.
Monsignor Alfonso Miranda agreed with this idea and he said that the joint work between businessmen, civil society, governments and church is already present in the support they offer to those in need, but by strengthening it they’ll contribute to have greater and better results.
Finally, Salazar Lomeli thanks the invitation made by the Citizen Council to participate in this event since these are “very productive dialogues that help build regardless of differences, argue and find ideas or proposals that modify their ways of thinking and decision-making.”
