WE INCREASED OUR ATTENTION SERVICES BY 32 PERCENT DURING 2019

Meanwhile, the service of legal support managed to open 1,226 investigation files, which means an increase of 68 percent compared with the previous year.

In press conference, Guerrero Chipres pointed out that, this year, the Citizen Council entered a stage of innovation and efficiency in order to improve attention services, particularly in terms of legal support in which, apart from helping citizens open investigation files, the purpose is to process cases.

“We promote a culture of denunciation to end with impunity and create a link toward processing crimes, this means, closing the circle of citizen aid,” he expressed.

Also, the Council began to diversify the services they offer, aiding vulnerable groups through actions that have a gender perspective, offering attention to LGBT+ population and working against violence within the family, as well as inaugurating services in English.

They trained over 19 thousand 800 people in psychological topics such as suicide prevention, mourning management and dignified aging; they helped 87 people at the emotions clinic and they trained 15 thousand 795 more people in topics of bullying and positive coexistence.

The Council has also trained over 400 police officers in terms of integration of the Standardized Police Report (IPG acronym in Spanish).

The council’s president pointed out that they recovered the capacity to produce and promote statistic data by making the SayYes study (Denounce, Intelligence, Safety and Innovation), which analyzes data from four sources of information.

Said study has helped identify new modus operandi and contributes to the betterment of public policies in terms of Safety.

He pointed out that in 2020 they’ll inaugurate the seat at Iztapalapa where they’ll offer free legal and psychological support.

Finally, he mentioned that the Council’s work will not take a vacation, so during the Christmas season, and all year round, they’ll offer attention 24/7. In relation with the season, he also shared some safety tips.
