In six months we’ve performed over 2 thousand 800 aid operations

We’ve managed to help users from countries such as Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Argentina, the United States and Colombia
By establishing the Trustworthy Chat (55) 5533-5533, the Citizen Council for SafeArgentina, thee in Mexico City broadened its aid coverage and in six months it has managed to help people from different states in the Mexican Republic, as well as people from other countries including: brazil, Dominican Republic, Argentina, United States and Colombia.
The Citizen Council established the aid service through WhatsApp in February and up to this day it has received over two thousand 800 interactions.
“The aid offered through WhatsApp is top quality, it’s done by trained counselors, not by bots. That’s one of our main axis and thanks to it we’ve earned people’s trust not only in Mexico City but also abroad,” Salvador Guerrero Chipres, president of the Citizen Council pointed out.
Among the topics counselors have attended through the Trustworthy Chat the ones that stand out include extortions, with 16 percent; animal protection with 15 percent; psychological support 14 percent; legal aid 7 percent and suicide 3 percent.
In fact, psychological counseling to help people with suicidal thoughts is the one that has been offered the most to foreigners as is the case of a young man from the Dominican Republic who wrote to the Trustworthy Chat seeking psychological help because he suffers from depression.
There was another case of a young Argentinian who was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome and who sent a message via chat seeking direct help instead of atomized help.
In both cases, counselors managed to calm them down, and both have interacted at least one more time with the Trustworthy Chat.
In order to broaden the attention offered, a few weeks ago the Citizen Council allied with Netflix, which promotes the Safety Line and the Trustworthy chat in one of its most successful TV series among teenagers “13 reasons why”.
Thanks to this they’ve had a positive impact on interactions, especially those that ask for psychological aid and that have increased to six thousand in one month, that is, 500 percent by increasing from 1 in July to 104 in August.
“Opening the Trustworthy Chat has enabled us to add allies that help improve the promotion of this call line, because we seek to help more people by offering a free service that is available 24 hours a day,” he added.
In order to use the Trustworthy chat, the citizens can send a WhatsApp to (55) 5533-5533 where they’ll receive legal and psychological free counseling every day of the week.
