WE OFFER OUR SUPPORT FOR THE LOCATION OF MISSING PEOPLE IN MEXICO CITY

We signed a collaboration agreement with the People Search Commission of the Government Ministry in order to support the families of missing persons.

Before the Secretary of Government in Mexico City, Jose Alfonso Suarez del Real y Aguilera, as a witness of honor, the Search for Missing Persons Commission, led by Fernando Elizondo Garcia and the Citizen Council for Safety and Justice presided by Salvador Guerrero Chipres, signed a collaboration agreement in order to face the absence of family members.

“Every person has the right to locate a missing person as part of their exercise of human rights. An absence like this cannot be faced without the participation of social organizations such as the Citizen Council,” the Secretary of Government declared, in representation of the Chief of Government, Claudia Sheinbaum.

Counseling will be offered through the Safety Line and Trustworthy Chat 55 5533 5533 and the National Line against Human Trafficking (LNCTP 800 5533 000. The three supporting elements –that offer psychological and legal aid by phone or in person, in case the reporting person decides to present their denunciation at the Public Ministry– work 24/7, are free and channel people directly to authorities.

Elizondo Garcia, head of the Missing Persons Commission highlighted that in the context of missing people and the citizens’ demands when searching for their family members require all authorities to take responsibility, according to their competencies, in order to guarantee Human Rights.

“Presently there are 793 registered missing people,” Elizondo declared.

Guerrero Chipres, President of the Citizen Council, reminded that this organization is an instrument that establishes liaisons, articulations, citizen participation and the promotion of a civic culture.

“This agreement has the purpose of strengthening families, in all of their versions, so that people who perceive, feel, know or consider the possibility of missing person among its members may communicate with this bridge led by the Citizen Council and that will lead them to the Government Ministry, the Mexico City Government, the Search Commission and, in this case, the mechanism that enables us to communicate directly with the safety Line,” Guerrero Chipres concluded.
