ON THIS “BLUE MONDAY”, WE ARE READY TO OFFER ATTENTION TO EMERGENCIES DUE TO DEPRESSION

• On the saddest day of the year and always, citizens can receive psychological support in the Security and Chat Line of Trust 55 5533-5533.

Through the Safety Line, the Trustworthy Chat 55 5533-5533 and the National Lada *5533, the Citizen Council for Safety and Justice in Mexico City offers free attention to people who are going through an emotional crisis due to anxiety, depression or suicide attempts.

The service is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a week and family members are welcome because they are offered information so that they can identify signs of depression or anxiety.

Within the framework of “Blue Monday” Salvador Guerrero Chipres, president of the Citizen Council, established that depression goes beyond feeling sad, down or without energy to work, so it must be observed to prevent greater risks. “If sadness is invasive and does not allow you to carry out your regular activities or consumes all your thoughts and does not allow you to feel other emotions, it’s necessary for you to ask for help and at the Council we are ready to help you, support, you, listen to you and help you feel better,” Guerrero Chipres mentioned.

He said that some signs of depression include: feeling tired throughout the day, not wanting to work or do anything, feeling that there’s no way out for your problems or having had a recent loss.

“If people don’t know who to ask for help, they may call the Citizen Council where all people are attended by duly trained psychologists who, apart from offering emotional help, give users tools to improve their life quality,” he added.

Finally, he said that the psychological attention service is offered in persona, both at the seat in Amberes 54 in the Juarez neighborhood and in Iztapalapa, at 100 Luis Hidalgo Monroy, San Pablo.

At the latter, there’s open psychological therapy on Sundays from 9:00 to 19:00.
