The Dean and the President of the organism agree on the importance of interaction between the civil, education, business and government sector during the firs diploma graduation.
The relationship between citizens, civil organisms, education institutions, business people and authorities is fundamental for the construction of citizenship and the design of public policies that benefit safety, according to the Iberoamericana University and the Citizen Council for Safety and Justice in Mexico City who participated in the graduation ceremony of the Diploma “Safety with Justice and Good Governance: Collaborative model, citizenship, businesses and authorities”.
Both institutions applauded the first generation that graduates from this diploma and in which 20 people participated: citizens and representatives of the public and private sectors, who exchanged ideas in a free and solidary dialogue to establish strategies that favor a better governance.
“When we work together we can create better projects. The bond between the Citizen Council and Ibero is fundamental. The fact that one generation graduate does not mean we are done with this, we have gone further, we have to dream and look beyond,” Saul Cuautle Quechol, Dean of the Iberoamericana University stated.
At the seat Council’s seat in Iztapalapa, both institutions renewed their collaboration agreement and highlighted the alliance between citizens and academics which allowed the establishment of actions that will consolidate a fair, peaceful and solidary coexistence while promoting culture and civic values.
Salvador Guerrero Chipres, President of the organism, trusts that this academic exercise will continue because it’s a magnificent example of collaboration.
“It’s impossible to solve any safety-related challenge without proven leadership and political able people who vindicate the convergence between citizens, businessmen and all levels of government. Let’s continue to work together with education, recovering what’s transcendent and social at the Iberoamericana University and that was clearly seen through the Diploma,” Guerrero Chipres declared.
The Dean highlighted that the pandemic taught us that we can’t survive this complexity by ourselves. “We need the attention and care of someone who can help us,” he said.
Before and during the sanitary contingency, the Citizen Council offered citizens psychological and mental health aid. An example of this is the increase in number of interactions that were registered through the Safety Line and Trustworthy Chat.
According to data from the organism, from January to May of last year they received 110 thousand 664 calls while in 2021 they added up 124 thousand 890.
The Citizen Council offers free support through the Line and Chat 55 5533 5533, 24/7, all across the country.
